*''City of Benares'' (1882), a full rigged sailing ship of 1,652 gross tons. Wrecked at Westkapelle, Walcheren on 1 October 1911
*SS ''City of Benares'' (1902), a 6.984 gross ton liner of the Ellerman Line. Scrapped, February 1933.
*SS ''City of Benares'' (1936), an 11,081 gross ton liner of the Ellerman Line. Torpedoed and sunk by on 18 September 1940 while carrying child evacuees.
